Training vs. Behavior Consulting
If your dog needs to brush up on basic manners, or you want her to acquire a specific skill, Repertoire offers Fundamental and
Specialty
Training Services.  For instance, if a family gets a new puppy and wants to teach her to happily go to her crate
when asked or to go potty outside as opposed to on the living room rug, a few simple training and associative learning
techniques can be taught to the family and easily implemented.

Behavioral Consulting may be warranted when a dog is displaying some sort of conduct that will require a formal behavior
modification plan.  If, for instance, your dog is displaying some level of reactivity to people who wear red, and men, and
thunderstorms, this problem is not so clear cut. There could be multiple issues at play here and any approach to deal with the
problem requires a plan that goes beyond basic manners and obedience exercises. This issue may require a customized
behavior modification protocol.  Repertoire calls the treatment of these issues “behavior consults.”

The distinction is important to note when choosing which form to fill out.  The
Training Services Intake Questionnaire is
somewhat shorter whereas the
Behavior Consult Behavioral History Questionnaire, found on the Contact Us page, can
take up to 40 minutes to complete.  In the end, either form is fine.  If it appears at our initial appointment that we need answers
to additional questions in order to proceed, we will try to uncover those issues in our preliminary interview.

Repertoire regularly sees cases involving the following issues:
